Hi we have recently had an old 1970s arch taken out of a wall and the
plasterer used metal brackets for the new square shaped arch and then
plastered around it. What do I paint over the top of the metal brackets as
I hear if I just paint our normal water-based Dulux Wash N Wear rust may
appear through the paint work. It is about 4 weeks old and we’ve had a
heatwave so can I assume plaster is cured and I don’t need to mist paint it
with a watered down paint first?

Either some worn 120 or 180 grit, depends on how rough the walls are.
