I always score the outer edge around my patch to allow the tape to inset,
simply take a razor blade and cut 1 1/2 perimeter around your patch and
remove paper, Your tape is not inset on both the patch and outer edge.

If you have very textured walls, you have to know how to match the texture
for larger repairs, otherwise, it’s going to be a very obvious patch. You
cannot just sand and paint. He should have followed up with a video on
matching texture.

This is the repair you use on a rental (very caveman way!) Instead of
putting the mesh over the painted surface remove 1-1/4 width of paper from
around the existing wall and then put your mesh in the groove over your
seems. Now you can apply your mudd with no visibility that a hole was ever
there!! This technique is for beautiful homes! P.S. Don’t mix your mudd in
a bucket, it just creates more work! Mix it in your mudd pan like a normal
person!!

Yeah, that’s what happened to me. Had a bad day, lost my temper over

This is great. Things have changed since I last fixed a wall and this video
will be great instruction for my son who put those holes in the wall and is
gonna fix them. Gonna check out your web site too. Just curious.

I was all ready to ask how to match the texture input you answered it
thanks. I’ve seen many many repairs people have done where the smooth mid
can be seen through the paint. A guy at work said primer on the mud should
work.
