We had a great time at Linda Tanner’s "Nine Miles from No-Where" party out in Creston. Here I used light painting to photograph Linda and her home as she takes in a beautifull evening sky. In November I will co-lead a workshop for the SLO Camera Club with Pat Brown. In the photo, I used some of the techniques that I will share at the workshop. Send me email if you are interested in the clsss.

Barb also wrote a song in tribute to Linda:

Nine Miles from No-Where

Sung to the tune “1000 Miles from Nowhere” by Gordon Lightfoot

I am nine miles from No-Where
Time don’t matter to me
Cause I am nine miles from No-Where
And there’s no place I want to be

I’ve got a kitten in my pocket,
Contractors in my head
And all that I keep hearing
Are the time delays that you said

Oh, I; Oh I; Oh I; Whoa, oh

Coyotes round the bend
Stars that last forever
And views that just won’t end

I am nine miles from No-Where
Time don’t matter to me
Cause I am nines miles from No-Where
And there’s no place I’d rather be

Oh, I; Oh I; Oh I; Whoa, oh
