In June 2015, crews working for Seattle Tunnel Partners completed a new construction access ramp inside the south entrance to the SR 99 bored tunnel. The ramp bridges the eight-foot drop between the level of the recently completed northbound roadway deck south of the entrance and the bottom level of the bored tunnel. The 400-foot-long ramp provides a gentle slope for crews moving equipment and materials into tunnel, including the vehicles that transport the curved, concrete tunnel segments. The interesting part, as far as I am concerned, is the BART train car mockup on display across the street, where the MTC headquarters building is now. I wonder if they still have it somewhere. Oh hey, here is a close-up of it there.
